Just do what `configure' said:

check your /etc/ld.so.conf (add /usr/local/lib if necessary), and run

	ldconfig -v

 as root

OR

set LD_LIBRARY_PATH and/or LDFLAGS environment variables, like this:

	export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
  export LDFLAGS="-Wl,--rpath=/usr/local/lib"
	./configure --blah-blah-blah

Good luck,
	Alexei.
